Sea of red Husker fans
fields of green growing corn
few big cities
countless small town
smell of backyard barbecues, cow manure, and ethanol plants
snow one minute and sunshine the next minute
two lane highways and gravel roads
people hunting, fishing, shopping, football games, and parties
What is freedom? Freedom in the U.S is so important. Freedom can be observed
all over. There are symbols everywhere. We have special celebrations and it
means a lot to different people.
The meaning of freedom is doing things like walking around
the neighborhood without getting taken by Germans. We can say things to other
people without getting in trouble for freedom of speech. You can learn to read
and write whenever you want to.
There are a bunch of symbols that represents our country
like our eagle that we adore so much. We all so love our flag that is red,
white, and blue. You can take long walks wherever you want to go for the day.
What is the meaning of celebrating our freedom with the 4th
of July and red, white, and blue fireworks? We also celebrate Labor Day by
remembering our freedom. We can’t forget about Veterans Day and thanking the
veterans for saving us from dying. Freedom is a great thing for millions of Americans. The
symbols and celebrations are so important. I am proud to live in America and to
be an American.
THE Legend of Corey
Darik. period 3
If your at O’Neill High School at night you might see the ghost of Corey. Corey was our old principal he haunts the whole school every day roams down the halls in a black suit. He has sandy blonde hair, with muscular features. He is about Ft 6 6 inches tall. When students are in study hall and PE, he rearranges the kids’ lockers, so they are organized. The kids hate it, so they mess up their lockers and Corey gets ticked.
This leads to Corey throwing books at the kids. The students try to throw them back at him. He grabs the boys and drags them to the weight room where he forces them to left heavy weights. One boy named Jim was trying to lift 400 pounds on the bench press. HE dropped it on his face. Corey laughs with his deep voice. As the kids continue to lift these heavy weights, the body odor of Corey begins to fill the weight room. He smells like a baby’s dirty diaper.
But Corey won’t stop adding weights to the bar. A football player attempts to lift the bar, and this time the weights bend the bar and fall off and crush the kid’s foot. When the weights hit his foot, it makes a huge dent in the floor. The football player’s foot has blood and bone showing. Corey’s deep laugh echoes in the weight room.
While he is laughing, the rest of the kids run out. Corey locks the door and the firefighters break it down. Corey tries to fight them off, but one gets him from behind. They wrestle him to the floor, but Corey escapes through the wrestling room. No one knows where he is, but somehow Darik’s locker was clean this Halloween.
As, I Darik and Harry Potter walked in the great hall of Hogwarts I could smell sweet food like pumpkin pie, Cherry pie, and apple pie. I sprinted back to my room and got dressed. When I got dressed I hustled back down and got ready for the party. The first thing I did I got a seat ready for me and my friend Jason Alden. When Jason and I sat down the food just appeared on our plates. There was corn beef, prime ribs, roast beef, and mash potatoes. They looked like the heavens of God. Then when you tasted them they tasted like the heavens of life.
The ceiling above Jason Alden and me had lightening, thunder and rain. The lightening was bright and the thunder sounded like the fireworks. The rain was heavier than any other rain I’ve ever seen. When I looked up I saw bats singing and hanging upside down. There were a hundred wizards flying around. Acorns started falling from under the table. Squirrels came flying in on little planes and started shooting us with little pumpkins. They exploded all over the wall.
There were people playing broom soccer, playing pin the tail on the wizard and there were broom races. Jason and I participated in the broom race and broom soccer. Jason and I were on the same team as Harry Potter. We dominated the other teams. When we finished all the activities we all went inside enjoyed a big plate of cheesecake.
"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers..." by Mother Goose
Peter Piper picked a peck of red pickled peppers; A peck of orange pickled peppers Peter Piper picked; If Peter Piper picked a peck of blue pickled peppers, Where's the peck of red pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
It was a hot day. All the kids were drenched in sweat like no other. It was August in O’Neill. There were about 50 kids out on the field bouncing around until coach said, “STOP NOW!” Then everybody looked at coach and straightened up as quick as a flash. Everybody was tired and wanted to stop after practicing for two hours, but coach said, “NO WE CAN’T STOP NOW WE ARE SO FAR IN TODAY!” We all said, “OK COACH!” Then we went back to playing football. As we started to do pass plays, we had Matt and Lio as receivers. Next, we threw the ball to the open receiver. I would love to be a receiver but I am too big so the coach suggested I should be a line man. Before football practice started I was so much bigger. I weighed at least 136 pounds. Now I weigh at least 120 pounds and I want to keep losing weight. The first day of football was the best day of school. So if you want to get in shape go out for football.
I am rich beyond measure I have an xbox in the front of my room. I play on my xbox for about one hour every two or three weeks. I also have my gun sitting in a safe spot in my room, but at night I keep my gun right next to me in case a burglar comes into my house. When my mom works in Norfolk it is sometimes 8:00 p.m. before she gets off of work so it is late when she gets home. In the corner of my room I can see my Coke machine by my stereo. I like having a room because I can put my belongings in there. I have chocolate chip cookies hidden in my room, and they are by my bed. There are numerous scary movies that I enjoy watching in my room. I like to watch them on the weekends with friends. It’s fun to have friends over so that I have someone to hang out with and watch movies with. I also have a BMX bike in my room on the wall by the television. I like to ride my bike every two or three weekends. I am rich beyond measure.
